What is Pass Plus and is it worth it?
Pass Plus is a DVSA training course for drivers who have recently passed their test. It is designed to help you gain experience in the situations the driving test does not cover.
What does Pass Plus cover?
There are six modules:
- Town driving
- All-weather driving
- Out-of-town driving
- Night driving
- Driving on dual carriageways
- Motorway driving
The course takes a minimum of six hours. There is no test at the end. Your instructor assesses you on each module as you go.
Who is it for?
Pass Plus is for newly qualified drivers who want more confidence. It is particularly useful if you have only driven in daylight and dry weather, or if you have never been on a motorway.
Does it reduce insurance costs?
Some insurers offer discounts to drivers who have completed Pass Plus, but not all do, and the saving varies. Ask your insurer before you book so you know what to expect.
